"Scanlon, a veteran of touring productions of “Phantom of the Opera” and “Evita,” ruled the stage. Haughty as a grand duchess ought to be, her powerful soprano was more than a match for an orchestra that often overwhelmed the singers. Vocally, she’s a pro, and it showed Thursday night, especially in the first act’s “Song of the Sword,” and the her duet in the second act." annarbor.com on "Grand Duchess of Gerolstein"

"Barbara Scanlon turns in a mesmerizing performance as Margaret Johnson." Mostly Musical Theatre at wordpress.com

"Scanlon carries Margaret as the matriarch and protector of the Johnson family, and her facial expressions are priceless." Encore Michigan

"Barbara Scanlon as Margaret is truly a joy to watch on stage. She takes every emotional moment — from loving mother to heartbroken wife — and makes you go through them with her. Even if she isn't verbally telling you what she is thinking, it's written all over her very expressive face." DexterPatch

"Barbara’s “unexpected discovery” is worth the price of admission by itself. " A2View on "Nunsense"

"Barbara Scanlon is delightful as the aging Madame Armfeldt, Desirees' mother, who – like her daughter – has a rather colorful past. Watch as the elderly woman quietly melts into the past as she recalls her many "Liaisons." Hers is a spot-on interpretation that will leave you smiling because of its warmth and honesty. " Encore Michigan

"Barbara Scanlon has you cracking up as she performs as Jeanette MacDonald outing a cardboard cutout of Nelson Eddy. (“Don’t call me, I’ll call you-ooo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-ooo.”) " examiner.com on "Jerry's Girls"
