Vocal Instruction

Developing and maintaining a healthy vocal technique is a lifelong pursuit. Techniques learned from many vocal instructors and coaches deserve to be passed on to the next generation of singers. Ms. Scanlon uses her lifetime of study and performance to provide comprehensive feedback and examples for her students.

Ms. Scanlon has completed Level III certification in the Somatic Voicework™ The LoVetri Method, which draws from voice science and medicine as well as traditional classical vocal training. She holds a Master's degree in Vocal Performance from Eastern Michigan University. She is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and MSVMA (Michigan School Vocal Music Association).

Broadway and classical vocal approaches have many similarities, such as controlled breathing, relaxation of tongue and jaw and well developed chest and head registers. Ms. Scanlon tailors her instructions to fit her students' vocal needs, performance goals and musical development.

Ms. Scanlon is currently accepting new students in her vocal studio.
